Every once in a while, a rock n'
roll band arrives with the nerve, ambition, and confidence
to do something different. Often this attempt is marked by a
unique sound or a defining look that separates them from
other bands. Other times, a group stands out because they
dare to stretch themselves as artists and as performers.
Bassist Amanda Brown, drummer Sean Doyle, guitarist Russ
Hines, and singer Tony Treviño are currently doing something
that is both ambitious and wildly intriguing. The quartet
have determined to create a performance-oriented project,
consisting of three different musical presentations. Each of
these offers a live show that is both visually and sonically
stimulating.
The collective name for all
three shows is The Donkey Show. Led by Treviño's
animated and charismatic vocal performance, each show
presented by The Donkey Show is what a live rock n' roll
show should be: loud, energetic, and thoroughly intriguing.
The band also performs a wildly
entertaining set of covers. Its title is simply The Donkey
Show, and is without a doubt the most party-friendly act.
Featuring songs by Alice in Chains, Filter, Stone Temple
Pilots, A Perfect Circle, Ozzy Osbourne, Velvet Revolver,
The Cult, and many more.
The Donkey Show is a live show that encourages people to let
loose and enjoy themselves. Treviño adds that this is
perhaps the most requested outfit, as he has found it to be
"the band that people hire to play three sets in a night for
their club or private party." Because of the familiarity of
the songs they cover, The Donkey Show is quickly gaining in
popularity.
The
members of The Donkey Show believe that the eyes are often
hungrier than the ears. They view each of their three acts
as an opportunity to sufficiently feed both the eyes and the
ears. Their music and their visual aspect is powerful. With
clean and clear vocals on top of loud guitars, drums, and
bass, the band is quickly making a name for themselves in
the hard rock, live-music scene. Perhaps the most appealing
aspect of The Donkey Show, however, is their willingness to
step outside their respective comfort zones. They are
consistently challenging themselves, and the fruits of their
labor are becoming more evident with each show.
